On May 9, WWE took a significant step by filing a trademark application with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. The application pertains to a new ring name, “Kelani Jordan,” and specifically covers entertainment services related to wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer.

The individual behind this new ring name is Lea Mitchell, a former gymnast from Michigan State University. Mitchell successfully caught the attention of WWE during the tryouts held over the SummerSlam weekend in Nashville, TN. Following her impressive display of skills, she officially joined the company in August 2022.

During her time at Michigan State, from 2018 to 2022, Mitchell excelled as part of the gymnastics team, accumulating an impressive record of 23 event victories. Building on her athletic prowess, she made her in-ring debut last October at the NXT live event in Melbourne, FL, where she participated in the Halloween Costume Battle Royal. Since then, Mitchell has been actively involved in several live events, showcasing her talents to the WWE audience.

Notably, she even appeared as one of Grayson Waller’s Girls at Vengeance Day in February, further establishing her presence within the company.

With this trademark application, WWE demonstrates its commitment to nurturing new talent and expanding its roster of entertainers. The introduction of “Kelani Jordan” represents an exciting chapter in Mitchell’s career as she continues to make her mark in the world of professional wrestling.
